At You and Yours Yoga we truly believe when you take the time for you, to fill your cup it will overflow into the other areas of your life and impact on those around you.

When you fly on an aeroplane, you are instructed to “put your oxygen mask on first,” before helping others. If you were to run out of oxygen yourself, you can’t help anyone else with their oxygen mask. This is particularly relevant for those who spend a great deal of their time taking care of others (mothers, fathers, care-givers, doctors, nurses, teachers). Taking care of others can easily deplete the care-giver. If you don’t take care of yourself, you can experience a range of symptoms from burnout, stress, fatigue, reduced mental effectiveness, health problems, anxiety, frustration, inability to sleep.

Yoga can give you the tools to help unwind, destress and calm the nervous system through mindful breath-centered movement, breath work and meditation it gives you the opportunity to make that time for you in this busy, modern world we live, to literally just take a break, to breathe, to connect, rest and restore your mind and body so we can continue to not only survive in this modern world but begin to thrive.
